Profile

The Master of Religion and Cultural Studies program is part of the study program at the Postgraduate program at the Indonesian Hindu University Denpasar, abbreviated as PMIAK. Operationally, it is carried out based on a decree from the Director General of Higher Education signed by Satryo Soemantri Brojonegoro Number 3191/D/T/2002 on 28 October 2002. For operational purposes, PMIAK also has an operational permit in the form of a Decree from the Director General of Higher Education number 3237/D/T/2005 dated 7 October 2005. Since its founding, PMIAK Postgraduate at Indonesian Hindu University Denpasar has always made changes and adjustments in line with developments in science and technology in order to achieve the Vision of the Study Program.

Vision

In line with UNHI's vision and the Postgraduate vision, the vision of the Master of Religion and Culture Study Program at Hindu University of Indonesia is "To become an excellent study program in the field of Hindu religion and culture and whose graduates are able to compete at the national and regional levels".

Mission

In line with the UNHI mission and the Postgraduate Program, the mission of the Master of Religion and Cultural Studies Program is.

  1. Organizing effective religious and cultural education, because it is supported by competent educational staff.
  2. Carrying out comprehensive research on religious and cultural issues based on the latest theories and methodologies.
  3. Carry out development, preservation of customs, culture and religion through community service activities.

Goals

Based on the vision and mission above, the aim of the Master of Religion and Culture study program is to produce a Master of Religion and Culture Science, which:

  1. Have sensitivity to traditional and religious issues, so that you can carry out your role as a researcher, and produce contemporary research work using the latest methodologies and theories
  2. Have skills in revealing and communicating religious and cultural teachings so that you can carry out the role of interpreter of religious information, both internally and externally.
  3. Producing graduates who have extensive knowledge in the fields of religion and culture so that they can carry out roles as consultants, coaches, preservation and development of religious and cultural traditions.

Target

Based on the objectives above, the targets of the Master of Religion and Culture Study Program to be achieved in the five years from 2013-2018 are.

  1. Realizing effective IT-based learning, in order to produce professional Masters in the Science of Religion and Culture.
  2. Increasing the quality and quantity of research in order to produce Masters in the Science of Religion and Culture who are able to open up understanding of the diversity of society so that they can improve the quality of their knowledge.
  3. Improving the quality and quantity of community service in order to produce Masters in the Science of Religion and Culture who have broad insight in the fields of religion and culture, so as to be able to improve the quality of people's lives for the better.

To achieve the above targets, a strategy has been developed with minimum achievement targets in five years (2013-2018) as follows.

  1. Develop standard operational procedures for each academic activity by utilizing reliable educational staff supported by the latest science and technology (2014 achievement target).
  2. Disseminate the results of research on religion and culture, and community service in accordance with current phenomena (2015 achievement targets).
  3. Increasing the quantity and quality of libraries, both the use of librarians, and updating collections of books, journals and research results (2017 achievement targets).
  4. Increasing the competence of lecturers and education staff, both through improving human resources, further education and through seminars and workshops, both at local and national levels (2014 achievement target).
  5. Periodically revise the curriculum referring to national higher education standards and the Indonesian National Qualifications Framework (2016-2018 achievement targets).
